Who is Health Note and what do they do?
Health Note is defining a new category of clinical tools that are contextually aware. We provide a platform that collects, screens, documents, and triages patient information either remotely or in-person before a clinical encounter happens.
We all know COVID-19 is highly contagious and our nation’s health system is experiencing a critical shortage of PPE and unprecedented volumes of calls and visits. - Asking patients questions before being seen and helping notify staff of possible risk factors.
- Providing a triage dashboard that directs patients to specified areas within healthcare facilities to minimize exposure.
- Rapidly collecting standardized critical screening information from patients through mobile phones via a web/text interface minimizes staff time required.
- Asking patients questions in their native languages and auto-writing a note in English.

This is how Health Note is being implemented in the clinical setting right now. The platform helps minimize contact with patients as much as possible. There are 3 ways to direct patients (shown below). In a clinic, patients can be auto texted before their appointment. In the Emergency Room, they can be texted or initiate the process via QR code, or hospital-specific website link.
What’s your role at Health Note? What does your day-to-day look like?
I’m the CEO and Co-founder of Health Note. My day-to-day is ever-changing and dynamic! I wear a lot of different hats and am busier than ever, but I’ve never been more excited and passionate to “go to work” every day. As a clinician, I am working towards fixing pain points that I and millions of other clinicians face, and that feels very rewarding and impactful. There’s been a huge demand for tools that can help clinical team members on the front line help their patients.
What makes Health Note different?
Health Note is not “just another chatbot”. There are key differences. Most chatbots attempt to diagnose and or triage patients. We have and continue to focus on clinical algorithms, decision support and automating workflows to serve healthcare providers.
How does your background and training in internal medicine impact and benefit Health Note?
I was a practicing physician until 2018. I loved what I was doing, seeing patients and working in internal medicine. What I didn’t like was staying late after work every night writing notes. I noticed an opportunity to help standardize and optimize operations and data collection.
We started Health Note with the goal of enabling physicians to take better care of their patients by spending higher quality time with them rather than on data collection and documentation. This is becoming more important than ever in this pandemic.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Success isn’t the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you’re doing, you’ll be successful.
