Brittany I've implemented daily 30-minute check-ins with my small team. The conversations typically are not work-related and just a chance for us to connect over Zoom virtually. We do a quick round robin of red, yellow, green as indicators of how we are doing overall. Though we are a small team everyone attends probably 4 out of 5 of the video calls. Most of the days folks are 'yellow' or 'red' have very little to do with the work itself but rather what's going on beyond the work (isolation, overall stress, managing work and homeschooling duties at the same time in the same space, etc.).
Survey results will be accessible through a reporting dashboard in AMA’s DataLab. The DataLab is an online, user-friendly platform which will allow you to access and export your aggregate survey results. You will also be able to compare your results to a national-level summary of other organizations that have completed the survey. The national-level summary may be available later than your site-level report.
The reporting dashboard within the DataLab will provide you with de-identified, summary-level survey responses. Through the DataLab, you will be able to further analyze and export your summary-level data across different demographic groups. You can use these data for research purposes within your organization and for publication.
The AMA is currently offering two surveys to monitor stress due to COVID-19. Below are more details on each:
-Coping with COVID-19 for Caregivers Survey: A 12-question survey designed to assess the impact of COVID-19 on clinical staff. This survey should take less than 3 minutes to complete. It is recommended that this survey be used at baseline and redistributed every 4-6 weeks so that your organization may review change over time. All survey responses are anonymous.
-PULSE survey: A 2-question survey designed to take less than 10 seconds to complete on a mobile device or laptop, and to be deployed as frequently as twice weekly or at a useful interval for your organization. It is recommended that this survey be deployed approximately a week after the first survey has been distributed. All survey responses are anonymous.
This is a time of great, acute stress. Physicians and care teams are being impacted physically, mentally, and emotionally due to COVID-19. Now more than ever, it is important for health care organizations to ensure an infrastructure and resources to support physicians, nurses, and care team members. These surveys will help health care organizations:
-Convey their concern/care to the workforce
-Track trends in stress levels
-Identify specific drivers of stress
-Develop supportive infrastructure based on these drivers
