The use of telehealth was broadly expanded throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure uninterrupted care for patients, including those with chronic conditions. Many provisions for the use of telehealth were created as part of the government-enacted Public Health Emergency (PHE) to increase the ease of adoption and use of telehealth. As we approach the end of the PHE, effective May 11, 2023, some of these flexibilities will expire in the months to come. This discussion is intended to help physicians, practices and health systems navigate these changes.
