Improving patient health outcomes by empowering physicians with the clinically valid health care data needed to make informed clinical decisions.
Improving patient health outcomes by empowering physicians with the clinically valid health care data needed to make informed clinical decisions.
The American Medical Association (AMA) and SNOMED International announced a joint initiative that will enable Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) and SNOMED CT to integrate seamlessly to improve clinical outcomes, enable access and lower costs across healthcare organizations.
The AMA will demonstrate their support for this partnership during the SNOMED CT Expo taking place on October 8-9, 2020. The on-demand sessions will cover pipeline innovation projects, software in development and how AMA is addressing clinical priorities within the standards space to enable interoperability and reduce physician burden.
IHMI will give presentations that provide an in-depth overview on ways clinical informaticists can connect CPT and other terminologies to SNOMED CT to create trustworthy tools across various domains including remote monitoring of chronic diseases, social determinants of health and health equity. The AMA and SNOMED International are committed to improving the exchange of clinical information and through this collaborative venture hope to create guidelines for practical implementation, effective research, and efficient exchange of terminology enhancements.
